In early 2024, Boulder County Public Works started the
North 95th Street (Valmont Road to Lookout Road) Reconstruction & Flood Resiliency Improvements Project to fix an area that is prone to flooding. Additionally, the project improved 95th Street at our Phillips Road turnoff - you can now actually see oncoming traffic when you're turn back on to 95th! And we got some nice turn lanes. So all-up, we're happy to see the work get done, but it does complicate getting here. And now that Phase 2 is underway, it's going to remain a bit more challenging through the end of the year.
As of August 26th, 2024,
YOU CAN ONLY GET TO CAPELLA RANCH ON SOUTHBOUND 95th STREET FROM LOOKOUT ROAD. 95th Street is fully closed between Phillips Road and Valmont Road so the project can install a huge culvert and then re-build the road. The map below shows the permanent closure. Key points on the map:
- 95th Street and Lookout Road. You must approach Capella Ranch from this direction. The pink line from 1. to 2. is the ONLY way to get to Capella Ranch.
- Capella Ranch. Bee Huts, baby goats, fresh cut flowers, honey, eggs, serenity.
- Big chunk of 95th Street that is completely ripped apart. You cannot get through here.
- 95th Street and Isabelle Road. If you find yourself at this intersection, you've got to take a detour. You can take the west route (5) or the east route (6)
- West route (yellow line) is 10 miles and takes about 15 minutes. Use this Google Maps link for West route turn-by-turn directions.
- East route (orange line) is 8 miles and takes about 11 minutes. Use this Google Maps link for East route turn-by-turn directions.
