Seriously, we're really very happy that Boulder County Public Works has undertaken necessary road work on 95th Street. There is a low part that is prone to flooding, so Boulder County has undertaken the
North 95th Street (Valmont Road to Lookout Road) Reconstruction & Flood Resiliency Improvements Project to fix it. We're happy to see the work get done, but it does complicate getting here.
According to the
Boulder County Project Page: the road will be closed to all travelers...between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Detours will be established. All work is weather and contractor dependent. When the road is open, there will be gravel roadway sections, so expect less-than-ideal travel conditions and reduced speeds.
The summer 2024 closure schedule is:
- Phase 1a – Yellow - Lookout Road to Gunbarrel Road – April through mid-May
- Phase 1b – Blue - Gunbarrel Road to Phillips Road – Mid-May through mid-June
- Phase 1c – Orange - Phillips Road to Owl Lane – Mid-June through mid-July
- Phase 1d – Red - Owl Lane to South End of Project Zone – mid-July through late August
- Phase 2 - Pink - Schedule TBD
